Third Annual Community Service Charrette
Wednesday, March 4th, 2:00 - 5:00 pm
Come join us for an explorative design charrette to be held on Wednesday, March 4th, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm for The Little Lighthouse, an education-based early childhood organization in Tulsa, OK whose focus is that students are valuable to us all. By serving the child and the whole family through free, unparalleled services it is ensured that every child can reach their unlimited potential. Participants will work in teams to develop design solutions for The Little Lighthouse and will have the opportunity to present their solutions directly to the client at the conclusion of the event.
The workshop, a three hour design charrette that could be replicated for your students, will start with a conversation to introduce and define the design problems presented to the group, followed by hands-on sessions where attendees will work in small groups to address the issues with concept and design sketches, followed by team discussions and presentations to the client.
As a professional organization, IDEC has much to offer in giving back to the design community in which we gather for our annual meeting. Materials to sketch and express your ideas will be provided. Or bring your digital devices to express yourself. Registration for this event is $20 and includes transportation, and refreshments during the Charrette. More information will follow to prepare participants for this enriching experience. To learn more about The Little Lighthouse, visit their website at https://thelittlelighthouse.org/. We hope to see you there!
