Lisa Waxman, Ph.D., IDEC President
Florida State University
Lisa Waxman is a professor in the interior design department at Florida State University. She has a BS in Interior Design from Florida State University, an MS in Interior Design from Oregon State University, and a Ph.D. in Art Education from Florida State University. Her current research includes the design of third places and spaces that foster community, as well as housing for people with special needs. She has served IDEC in various capacities including Secretary/Treasurer, Secretary of the Foundation, Journal of Interior Design Editorial Board, Communication Committee Chair, Educational Services Director, and South Regional Chair. She is a NCIDQ certificate holder, a LEED-AP, a member of ASID and IIDA, and a licensed interior designer in Florida. She teaches research methods, computer-aided design, environmental and behavior, sustainability, and graduate studio.

Denise Guerin, Ph.D., IDEC Past-President
University of Minnesota
Denise Guerin is a Morse-Alumni Distinguished Professor and Director of Interior Design, Department of Design, Housing and Apparel, College of Design, University of Minnesota. She received her Ph.D. from Michigan State University focusing on energy conscious interior design; she also has bachelors and masters degrees in interior design. She teaches undergraduate studios, ethics and professional practice, and ID research methods and advises both masters and Ph.D. students. Her research focuses on POEs in sustainable buildings and implementation of evidence-based design in practice. She has served as President and Vice President of the IDEC Foundation, on several task forces for NCIDQ, and as editor of JID. Currently, she serves as a CIDA site visitor and actively participates in her state’s ID practice legislation. She is co-author of The State of the Interior Design Profession (2010), The Interior Design Profession’s Body of Knowledge and its Relation to Health, Safety, and Welfare (2010) and is coordinator of InformeDesign®. Denise is recipient of IIDA’s Michael Tatum Excellence in Education Award, NCIDQ’s Louis Tregue Award, and ASID’s Distinguished Educator for 2007. She is a Fellow of IDEC and ASID. |

Lisa Tucker, Ph.D., IDEC President-Elect
Virginia Tech
Lisa Tucker is an associate professor and the coordinator for the graduate program in interior design for the School of Architecture + Design at Virginia Tech where she teaches buildings systems, lighting, and upper level studios. Lisa is an active member of ASID and has been a practicing architect and interior designer for over 20 years. She holds an undergraduate and master's degree from the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia and has specialized in historic preservation and sustainability. She also has a doctorate from the University of Missouri in Human Environmental Sciences. A member of IDEC since 2000, Tucker has served as South Regional Chair, the Regional Chair liaison to the Board, tbe Director of Communications, the Director of Scholarship and both as Chair and Co- Chair of the Sustainability Task Force. She is author of two books on Sustainable Design: Sustainable Building Systems and Construction for Designers (2010) and Designing for Cradle to Cradle (2011, co- authored with Dr. Anna Marshall –Baker).

Migette Kaup, IDEC Secretary/Treasurer
Kansas State University
Migette Kaup is an Associate Professor in Interior Design in the College of Human Ecology at Kansas State University. Over the past five years she has served IDEC as Midwest Regional Chair, Midwest Regional Conference Chair and Regional Chair Representative to the Board of Directors. Kaup also served two years as a member of the Creative Scholarship Task Force.
She is currently the ID Program Coordinator as well as a member of the gerontology faculty through the K-State Center on Aging. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and Masters of Architecture in Environment & Behavior and Place Studies with an emphasis in Gerontology from Kansas State University. Her professional practice, as an interior designer specializing in gerontological and universal design, includes over 9 years in architectural firms as well as 9 years in private consulting to long-term care providers and design professionals. |

Scott Ageloff, IDEC Director
Ageloff & Associates
Scott Ageloff is Director of the Master of Science in Interior Architecture program at Philadelphia University and principal of Ageloff & Associates, a firm he founded in 1988. Prior to his position at Philadelphia University he served as Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the New York School of Interior Design and Associate Professor of Interior Design at Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York, where he served as Chair of the Arts Division. Mr. Ageloff received his undergraduate degree in architecture, with honors, from Carnegie-Mellon University and Masters of Architecture from Yale University. Prior to graduate school, he was a Fellow in the Luce Scholars Program of the Henry Luce Foundation during which time he was a working member of the Architects Group Forum, an architectural firm in Seoul, Korea. He is licensed to practice architecture in New York and New Jersey, and is a New York State Certified Interior Designer. He has served as a grader of the NCIDQ exam and is a site visitor and a member of the evaluation committee for CIDA.

Ellen Fisher, IDEC Director (Scholarship)
New York School of Interior Design
Ellen Fisher is the VP for Academic Affairs and Dean of the New York School of Interior Design. She teaches design studio courses in both the undergraduate and professional-level MFA programs. Prior to this, Ellen achieved the rank of adjunct Associate Professor in the Interior Design Department at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, a program of which she is an alumna. She is currently PhD-ABD in the School of Human Environmental Sciences at the University of Missouri, conducting research into the effect of classroom design on literacy. A NCIDQ Certificate holder, professional member of ASID, and New York State Certified Interior Designer, Ellen is also the principal of her eponymous interior design firm. For the past three years, Ellen has served IDEC as chair of the East Region.

Susan Ray-Degges, IDEC Director (Regions)
North Dakota State University
Susan Ray-Degges is Associate Professor of Interior Design at North Dakota State University where she also serves as the Interior Design Program Coordinator.
She holds a Bachelor of Science from Missouri State University and a Masters of Science and Ph.D from the University of Missouri with a focus on environment design and gerontology. Susan has over 20 years of experience in interior design and has been a member of IDEC since 1992 and ASID since 1991. She is a Certified Interior Designer in the State of Minnesota. Susan has most recently served IDEC as Midwest Regional Chair and co-chair of the Distance Learning Network. She was a member of the Paper Submission Task Force in 2007 and has served as an abstract reviewer for IDEC’s Annual Conference since 2001. |
