IDEC Board Elections

The IDEC Board is making every effort to improve all of the councils' practices and processes with regard to sustainability. In an effort to "go green" with our election process for IDEC Board Members, we will be observing the following schedule:

October 1: Link to final ballot emailed to "Professional" memberships

October 29: Voting deadline

The invitation will include a personalized link, allowing one submission per voter. Be aware this email will come from Survey Monkey, so please make the appropriate changes to your SPAM filter settings to allow emails from @surveymonkey.com to be received.

The proposed slate of officers for the IDEC Board of Directors 2011 is available on the IDEC website. Both the position descriptions and biographies for the slated officers are posted in the member center.

IDEC is fortunate and proud to have very qualified and committed individuals who are dedicated to the mission of IDEC and ready to serve its members.

IDEC Welcomes New Communications Coordinator

Welcome Rachel, IDEC's new Marketing and Membership Communications Coordinator

IDEC would like to welcome Rachel Daeger as the new Marketing and Membership Communications Coordinator. Rachel comes to IDEC with a strong background in association communications and marketing with over 10 years of association experience. Rachel is filling a part-time position with IDEC and will be available Tuesday, Wednesday morning and Thursday each week. You can reach Rachel at rdaeger@idec.org.

The addition of Rachel to the IDEC staff means that Andrea Cowan will no longer have responsibilities with IDEC, and will be focusing her talents on another association within Raybourn Group International's family of associations. Andrea has been with IDEC since the Fall 2008 and has helped IDEC increase its effectiveness in membership communications and engagement. She will continue to assist through the staff transition helping Rachel assume the role of Marketing and Membership Communications Coordinator. If we are lucky, we still might get to have Andrea help us out at the 2011 Annual Conference in Denver. You can express any appreciation for Andrea's work by sending an email to her at acowan@raybourn.com.

Staying Connected with IDEC

Are you receiving IDEC emails and mailings?

Update your contact information online.

Log in to the Member Center at www.idec.org, and follow the link, Update Your Contact Information. From here, you can ensure your mail and email addresses are current.

Add a second, personal email address.

While updating your contact information in the online Membership Directory, add a personal email address in the field Non-.edu Email Address. As we have noticed, many emails are being blocked by institutions. This option will be more reliable long-term than an institutional address.

Add the IDEC domain to your safe senders list.

  • For each email program you use, add @idec.org, @constantcontact.com and @surveymonkey.com to your Safe Senders list.
  • For example: In Outlook, follow the Actions tab to Junk E-mail, to Junk E-mail options. From the Safe Senders tab, add domains @idec.org, @constantcontact.com and @surveymonkey.com.
  • If you have a different email program, feel free to email lgardier@idec.org for assistance.
