Interior Design Video Competition

Congratulations to the winners of the first Interior Design Video Competition and to the three sponsoring organizations. Through the co-sponsorship of IDEC, IIDA and NCIDQ the competition was very successful in both the number and quality of the submissions. The work of the winners was commendable and worthy of the awards they received. First place was awarded to Simon Chung, Hong Kong Polytechnic University; second place, Erica Burgon & Kurt Leikis, Utah State University; and third place, Ashley Coons & Kendra Ames, Utah State University.

The awards are not the end of the story. A YouTube Branded Channel is being developed by Jeff Kinney from NCIDQ to launch the top videos from the competition. The public, the profession and education can utilize these short "films" for such issues as client and legislation education, classroom exchange and promotion of the profession.

Everyone included in the competition was pleased with the outcomes of the first time event and hopes to repeat the success in next year's competition. Look for the upcoming announcement about the 2011 competition and how you as a practitioner, educator or student can add your voice to the promotion and understanding of the profession of Interior Design.
